This is everything I wear and pack with me to be as comfortable as possible on flights longer than 3 hours.
My Travel Essentials for Medium to Long-Haul Flights
Clothing & Outfits
Your flying/travel day outfit is really going to depend on your length of flight and where you’re headed.
But in general, I always wear a pair of comfortable pants, a fitted top (short sleeve t-shirt or tank) and an oversized layering piece.
- A zip-up sweater with a hood is my must-have for long flights (so much cozier with a hood)
- Comfortable travel pants
- Fitted shirt or tank top (I like wearing a tank with a built-in bra for maximum comfort)
- Blanket scarf: for long flights (just wear it as a scarf when you board the plane)
- An extra pair of socks (changing into a fresh pair of socks is key)
Tech & Gadgets
- The right travel credit card that gives you free lounge access
- This travel pillow/eye mask combo is the only way I can actually sleep on a plane
- Noise canceling earbuds (this set comes with a built-in phone holder)
- Either a bluetooth connection device (like AirFly) or corded headphones for the entertainment system
- Powerbank (I’m always worried my outlet won’t work)
Pharmacy & Wellness
- Bye Bye Bloat: start taking these the morning of or night before my flight – no more tummy issues when I travel
- Sometimes I pack my own tea bags!
- Chapstick
- Supergoop Glow Stick: you NEED SPF on the plane, and this is ultra hydrating and glowy.
Extra Things I May or May Not Bring (depending on flight length)
- Lightweight travel blanket that snaps around your neck so it doesn’t fall off your shoulders and converts to a pillow
- Foot hammock: works great if you’re a shorter person
- Compression sleeves: I prefer sleeves vs. socks (since I like wearing my comfy socks)
Bags
I have a few carry-on bags that I love and alternate between depending on where I’m going and for how long.
Here’s the carry-on luggage that I’ve used and recommend (be sure to check the specific measurements of your airline though).
